When I was growing up in the Midwest and Spring Break rolled around, many families would pack up and head south to Florida...not my family, we stayed home. When the break was over and we returned to school, we were still as pasty as we had been one week earlier. There were no golden tans to show off and be envied upon our return to the hallowed halls of academia.
This week is Spring Break for my daughter and son. You may be asking, where do Florida Spring Breakers go for Spring Break? Florida...at least these Floridians are staying in the Sunshine State.
We are sleeping in a little every morning, catching up on some light reading, playing video games and watching movies. We are going to grandma and grandpa's, just up the road a piece, where we will do some kayaking and wilderness trail hiking.
We may even work on our tans!
